Daman Unfolded

Hello,

Today I would like to share my memories of last summer May 2016 of Daman.

I quit my last job and I was at my home during march 2016. I didn't have any trip since long so I was eagerly waiting for someone to asked me for a trip. And here we go, One of my college friend Jitesh came to me and asked me for a trip to Daman. Initially, with a pause, some questions arise in my mind:

How much does it cost to?
How much time will it take?
What are the traveling options we have?
And most important that can I leave my comfort zone (Home) for few days?

So at that time I take a deep breath and asked myself that, you should have to take a Quantum leap for making memories and creating footprints. Because Travelling is an uncontrollable erg within you. And I said Yes without any second thought. Then we had a conversation about the trip:

Me: where are we going?
Jitu: To my sister's home at daman for few days.
Me: It's not comfortable for me!
Jitu: You know me nah...so she is also like your sister too.
Me: I agreed totally. But it's not like that...its like I don't know her. Maybe I got new job opportunities meanwhile.
Jitu: Don't give me minor excuses. If you are in then tell me otherwise I am going alone.
Me: Ok then YES I am in and we are going.

And hence after that, we booked 2 train sleeper tickets to and fro from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan to Vapi, Daman. Both of us are eagerly waiting for our first trip together. But after 10-15 days I got a job offer and I got it. So I put the condition of the Daman trip in front of the company and they agreed. And after a couple of days, we started our journey.

Finally yeah... we are going to Daman. The train crossed the whole Gujrat and reached Vapi in 15-16 hours. It's the nature which changes from place to place (air, temperature, trees everything) and you feel good.

We took a taxi from Vapi to Daman, it hardly took 15-20 min. Because of 13 km distance approx and he charged Rs.50 only. Then we got to rest at his sister's home. She was really nice, she prepared all the delicious Rajasthani dishes for us and I felt like home at her place. Daman was really joyful with both beaches and Gujarati dishes. Daman was full of coconut trees.

The houses were in an old Indian fashion, which added an essence of the classic Indian village.

But if you thought that the whole city was made up of that kind of architecture then you are wrong. There were flats and concrete houses also and didi use to live in a flat which is sufficient for a nuclear family.

DAY 1
In the evening we pick the scooter of Jijaji and roam around to got to know about the place and explore it in our own way.

Devka beach is the main public attraction in Daman besides the Arabian Sea. We went there. The sand was really hot in summer may and the zephyr was really soothing. Whenever you first watch the sea (with wide-angle 180-degree ) in your lifetime you realize that it was really huge than your imagination and you were nothing. On the beach side, you got seafood, coconut water, and interesting bhelpuri with a twist of kaccha aam. One can also enjoy some sports like paragliding, horse riding, boating etc.

Then we roam around and enjoyed the beauty of daman and get back to home.

DAY 2
On next day, we woke up late in the morning and then we had lunch at home. In the evening we planned to go to Jetty Garden which is also a very good place to hang out with the friends. There you got the chowpatti full of Indian street foods.

One could also visit the old church over there but unfortunately, we can't make it just because of certain fixed timing.

One could also enjoy the hard drinks to chill out near the beach because it's a union territory and in UT's are tax-free. Then we went to Dominos had 🍕 pizza and then back to home.

DAY 3
On the 3rd day of our trip, Jijaji planned our whole day. In the morning we went to the beach and had a dip in the sea.

Then we all went to Mirasol Resort, which is not actually a resort but it was a water park with a lake for boating beside the beautiful garden.

Then in the evening, we had a close view of the cruise which is really mesmerizing and had
dinner at Jetty. While returning we visited the real lighthouse which I had only seen in the school books. It was really a great day.

DAY 4
Dadra and Nagar's haveli is around 41km far from daman and Silvassa is the capital of the UT. So yes on next day in the early morning we head via motorbikes to explore the interesting places at Dadra and Nagar haveli. There we visited Silvassa Vasona Lion Safari, where you could easily see the lions roaming around and we were in a caged bus to watch them. We also enjoyed the deer safari separately.

After that, we went to nakshatra garden which is a Hindu mythological place. In the garden, you could saw the plants of each and every nakshatra which sounds interesting. Then we visited an another garden which could also call Dadra Garden. There we had lemon water with a twist of Tulsi seeds. The garden was beautiful with green plants spread all over around with a pleasant lake at the center. But the interesting part was the swings and rides. I must say that every city should have that kind of garden. Because if you go there for an hour every day then you need not go to any gym or any meditation classes. As the rides were open for all and for every age group. Basically, the rides use your own weight to make you fit and it was really enjoyable.

So after that fun day, we all were back to home.
And on very next day we head towards our hometown via train with lots of vivid memories of daman.
Hope you all like my first trip experience. Please stay tuned for the next adventurous trip to our own pink city Jaipur...

Follow your heart

Hello friends,

In any job, you have to do some tasks and that's your daily routine. Most of the time many people use to get bored with their daily routine job. In that case, one should have to focus on oneself that 😎

Who is he?
What're his qualities?
What're his hobbies?
And how could he improve them?

That makes your life interesting and motivated with a flavor of zest. We lost our self in the rush of earning money. We should live the life to the fullest and make it an example for others.

Now I introduce myself I am Hitesh Sharma, a designer by profession from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Since childhood I have so many hobbies like sketching, painting, playing, creating new things, etc. But gradually during the job I developed an another interest in myself that’s Travelling. Now I have only one thought in my mind that’s “Cover the earth before it covers you”. Travelling is like an addiction to me. Every month I spend a lot on it. I love to meet new people at different places. I would also love to learn their culture and tried to adopt the best of them. It will make you feel alive and enhance your creative power. It improves your mental and physical health. It also reduces stress.

I have so many touring experiences till now on my own and I just would like to share it with you all. Thus I choose this platform to share it. I would like to share one of them in my next blog. So please stay tuned…

Thanks for reading my very first blog 😉
